Brief Summary of Protocol:
The physicians at the Rockefeller University and Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Center Hospitals are doing this research is to understand the way the body defends itself against HIV-1.



Detailed Description of Protocol:
Approximately 25-450ml (2–30 tablespoonfuls) of blood will be withdrawn from a vein in your arm using sterile techniques.

It may be necessary to obtain additional samples later in the study. Profile:

There is no direct benefit to you for taking part in this study. However, the information that we gain from this study may help others in the future.



Compensation:
There is no cost to you for being in this research study.

If extra effort is made by study subjects whose visits are more frequent than would ordinarily be clinically indicated, an incentive of $10 per visit will be provided to defray travel and other costs.
